Admission to Lindner Business Honors (LBH) is a competitive process based on a review of the whole student. Your email invitation indicates the program(s) for which you will interview. The admission committee will determine which program is the best fit based on your qualifications and interests. Each business honors program may accept. The McCombs Business School at the University of Texas at Austin consistently ranks among the leaders in the nation for both undergraduate and MBA programs, but the Business Honors Program (BHP) for highly qualified applicants can lead to jobs and salaries that rival those of the leading private.

- #3121 replies9 threadsRegistered UserJunior MemberMy son has a BHP interview scheduled for later this week. From the mail we received, it sounds like they do not interview all applicants but a select portion of applicants are interviewed. I have a couple of questions:
1. Being selected for an interview for BHP -- is that a good sign ( as I would think that not being selected would mean that they are not considering the applicant for BHP).
2. If anyone has had an interview with a BHP Alumni -- what type of questions/ information they are interested in knowing about the applicant ? or What is the theme of the interview?
Any advise from a BHP hopeful applicant or admitted BHP student would be very much appreciated. Not everyone who interviews is accepted into BHP, but if you don't interview you can't get in. So, it's a good sign!
My son's interview was very friendly and laid back. He was nervous going in, but 5 minutes into the 30 minute phone conversation he was just being himself and got a lot of good information.
We found out a week later that he was accepted into BHP.

His status has never updated. It shows he was accepted by Plan 2, but BHP still shows in review. Good luck! I hope you get good news!0· Reply·Share

UT regular McCombs is better than the option you stated. My son is applying and I am a graduate of carnegie Mellon. I have recruited at all these schools over the years. UT Austin far better option than SMU both in terms of jobs and in terms of graduate school after undergraduate degree regardless. But its your choice. Good luck!1· Reply·Share
