The government, in December last, appointed 185 members and 27 committees to revise 352 titles in seven mediums.

The State government textbooks have been mired in controversy for the past two academic years after academicians and the Committee for Resisting Saffronisation of Textbooks in Karnataka alleged that there were several cases of “objectionable” content and labelled them as “blatant attempt to saffronise textbooks”.

Mr. Ramachandrappa also urged the government to review the Nali Kali model, an interactive teaching methodology used for classes one, two and three in government schools.

Questioning why the model was implemented only in government schools, he said it was against the principle of equality that government schools had one model and private schools had another model.
